Frosted Glass Coffee Tables Can Make Your Living Are Stand Out

Frosted Glass Coffee Table

A frosted glass coffee table is a unique version of the basic glass coffee table. The glass is frosted, so less of a clear picture can be seen when looking directly through the glass to the other side. The glass is smooth, but frosted, giving it a soft texture through the etching process which texturizes the glass using acid. Frosted glass still looks translucent, but the soft quality which the glass acquires after it has been etched looks more solid because the rays of sun are deflected and absorbed, rather than going right through the glass.

Frosted glass tables look excellent in rooms which have pastel colors on the walls and smooth pastel colored fabrics. Glass which is frosted can sometimes take on a unique light pastel green or blue color, and a table top made of frosted glass would naturally coordinate with a room that also has pastel of other colors working throughout the room. Because frosted glass tables have this unique color and texture, a very large frosted glass table may seem overbearing. In a smaller living space, small and rounder tables may look more appropriate.

Because the color of frosted glass is so beautiful it would be a shame to mix the glass with a wooden base that doesn't let the light shine through it. It is best to keep the table top open, and to use small metallic legs which don't block the light in a material like brass legs to hold up the table.

Because the frosted glass of the coffee table can sometimes look green or blue, the table top looks especially unique if it is cut into an organic form like a bean shape. This cut along with the color gives the table an organic and nautical feel, especially when combined with two layers of glass for shelving and brass legs. This would be the perfect frosted glass table to use in a house by the ocean.

The rectangular slab of glass are bent over on two sides during it's manufacturing to make the shape of a bench. If strong enough glass is used then extra table legs aren't even needed. The coffee table is one slab of frosted glass in itself, bent over on two sides to make it stand. No other materials are used, which makes this table the best frosted glass table design for a minimalist or contemporary modern room.
